Sure, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 has a lot of great tech and convenience features, it's true, but this engine is really worth a look.
Power and performance
This is a hand-built AMG-built 4-liter V8 biturbo frigate that replaces the outgoing 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine in the previous G63.
To get it all done and grunt even more fun, Merck saw fit to deliver most of it in the 2500 to 3500 rpm range.
Two twin-scroll turbochargers are used for optimal response, according to Mercedes-Benz.
Unique layout
The strange thing is the physical layout of the plant and all its support facilities.
Speaking of German engineers, they also improved pistons, optimized intercooling and rolled out extensive software updates.

Transmission technology
This new engine is paired with a 9-speed AMG transmission, software controlled for shorter shift times, a downshift function and a dual reflex function in Sport and Sport Plus modes.
There is an off-road gear for difficult terrain that can be engaged through the low-speed switch at speeds up to 25 mph.
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 features a double wishbone front suspension mounted directly on the ladder frame.
Suspension setup
The suspension system has been completely redesigned by Mercedes-AMG to feature coil springs, and for the first time the front axle has double wishbone independent suspension.
If you go off-road, you can choose from three modes: Sand, Trail and Rock.

Pricing and personality
No word on price or availability, but I'm sure it's in showrooms by this fall and will cost an astounding amount.
