Hyundai plans to expand its N Performance models. SUVs are the current market trend and all manufacturers are moving towards it. This is where the green light is on for the Hyundai Kona N.

Albert Biermann, who is in charge of Hyundai's N Performance program, has told engineers to start working on a test car in hopes that it will get approval for production. And he instructed them to install the 2.0-liter turbo engine from the current i30 N, which provides 250 horsepower.

Hyundai kona n performance will get 250 horsepower.

«I told the engineers, build the car and we'll see what happens when it's approved,» Biermann said. «It should be an engine like in the i30 N. Of course, we can give the Kona different suspension and steering characteristics, although there are some common components we can use in that area as well. But we already know what the engine and gearbox should be for the Kona N.».
