Hyundai Motor Company has announced organizational changes in its overseas operations as the company gives more autonomy to each region to drive sustainable growth and improve innovation levels. The reorganization should entail an increase in the relevance of the brand in the market.

Global reorganization in the Korean way

As the first step in its global business reorganization, the company has opened Hyundai Motor North America headquarters, Hyundai Motor Europe headquarters and Hyundai Motor India headquarters, which will commence operations on July 2, 2018. The overseas offices will be transformed into regional headquarters.

Each regional unit's responsibilities will cover all aspects of the business, from product planning, marketing, sales, to production.

The regional teams, in close cooperation with corporate headquarters, will play the role of a regional center to lead continuous operations in each market and take Hyundai's global business operations to the next level.

On the functions of headquarters

The newly opened Hyundai Motor North America headquarters will include Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, the company's manufacturing center for the Americas and three sales divisions - Hyundai Motor America, Hyundai Motor Canada and Hyundai Motor Mexico.

Hyundai motor announces overseas reorganization

Hyundai Motor Europe Headquarters will expand the current functions of Hyundai Motor Europe (HME), bringing Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) and Hyundai Assan Otomotiv Sanayi Ve Ticaret (HAOS: Turkish joint venture) under its umbrella.

Hyundai Motor India Headquarters will support the development strategy in Asia to further expand in the market under the leadership of Executive Vice President Young-Key Koo, the current Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India.

Current HME president Hyung-cheong Kim will be appointed executive vice president to lead the global operations division at Hyundai's headquarters in Seoul.
