Genesis G80 spying on the inside

In addition, the steering wheel looks completely different from other Genesis models on sale and is oddly designed. The infotainment system appears at the top of the dashboard with a widescreen tablet system.

The third-generation Genesis G80 is scheduled to be released at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.

The new G80 will introduce the next-generation Genesis philosophy that was introduced on the Essentia concept as well as the GV80 SUV concept car. The new G80 will feature a slim coupe-inspired body design with a fully detached LED lighting system, a quadrangular front grille, a low and long side profile and a sporty rear-view design...

Significant improvements will take place in the powertrain area, while Hyundai Motor Group will bring it all out with the introduction of two new engine families. The first will be the 2.5-liter and four-cylinder Theta III engine, offered with a Twin-Turbo system and a final output of 300 horsepower. The 3.3-liter gasoline turbo engine in the high-performance G80 Sport is expected to change to a new 3.5-liter Lambda III engine with up to 400 horsepower.

There is also speculation that the 2.2-liter diesel engine will be replaced by a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine. In addition to the internal combustion engine, the new G80 is expected to include some electric powertrain. Some consumers are expecting the launch of a purely electric car from Genesis, but that's unlikely due to the fact that we haven't yet seen any Hyundai Motor electric cars that are larger than small or mid-size cars. Models equipped with a mild 48V hybrid system are more likely to be added to the lineup than pure electric cars.
