The Genesis Essentia concept, first unveiled at the 2018 New York Auto Show, continues its journey to the assembly line.
In an interview with Motor Trend, Genesis boss Manfred Fitzgerald revealed that the company is already working on a production variant as they are currently testing its chassis. The CEO went on to say that they are trying to get "the right transmission equation and determine how we want to use it."
This statement is a little open, but Fitzgerald said that "there are different configurations and different options on the table." The idea was a multi-engine electric car and a carbon monocoque chassis, and while we don't see the latter as a possible option, for cost reasons, an electrified powertrain cannot be ruled out, especially when everyone is heading in that direction.
