Kia Motors has introduced an updated and improved Kia Sportage.<\/p>\n

The new model combines an updated design with new safety and infotainment technologies.<\/p>\n

The state-of-the-art new EcoDynamic + 48V hybrid powertrain developed for the Sportage has been launched for the first time as part of a global powertrain electrification strategy. Kia is the first manufacturer to offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery and 48-volt mild hybrid technologies across its entire lineup. Kia will launch 16 advanced powertrains by 2025, including five new hybrids, five plug-in hybrids, five battery electric vehicles and a new fuel cell electric vehicle in 2020.<\/p>\n

Kia sold over 131,000 Sportage examples in 2017, accounting for a quarter of the brand's European sales. The Sportage upgrade also includes modifications to GT models. Deliveries of the new model will begin in the third quarter of 2018.<\/p>\n

Upgraded powertrains include the new EcoDynamics+ diesel hybrid<\/h3>\n

Sportage now offers a wider range of engines, including Kia's new "EcoDynamics+" 2.0-liter diesel hybrid powertrain. EcoDynamics+ complements 48V battery acceleration and extends engine battery life with the new Mild-Hybrid Starter-Generator. It reduces CO2 emissions on the 4% in accordance with the Worldwide Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).<\/p>\n

The Sportage's existing 1.7-liter CRDi (Cut Rail Direct Injection) diesel engine has been replaced by Kia's new 1.6-liter U3 CRDi engine, the cleanest diesel engine Kia has ever produced. The new 1.6-litre diesel engine produces 115 or 136 ps, with more powerful models available with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.<\/p>\n

All powertrains are now fully Euro 6d TEMP compliant.<\/p>\n

Updates to the attractive design of the KIA Sportage<\/h3>\n

Improvements to the Sportage's sporty exterior design include new front and rear bumpers as well as revised front and rear lights and new 16-, 17- and 19-inch wheels.<\/p>\n

The refined cabin features a new steering wheel and redesigned instrument panel, as well as new black and gray two-tone upholstery. GT models are available with new black and gray two-tone leather seats or optional black leather with red accents.<\/p>\n

Intelligent safety technologies and new infotainment systems<\/h3>\n

The updated Sportage uses the latest advanced driving assistance systems, including Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Around View Monitor to facilitate parking maneuvers and alert the driver to combat fatigue and inattention behind the wheel.
