Opgenomen in de TOP-50 grootste autoleveranciers ter wereld, opgericht in 1899 door Sally Windm\u00fcller onder de naam Westf\u00e4lische Metall-Industrie Aktien-Gesellschaft (WMI). De belangrijkste specialisatie in die tijd waren kerosinelampen voor treinen.<\/p>\n<p>De naam HELLA werd voor het eerst gebruikt in 1908 als handelsnaam voor acetyleenkoplampen en werd in 1986 als de belangrijkste bedrijfsnaam aangenomen. HELLA participeert als ontwerper en bouwer van de grootste distributienetwerken. Op dit moment heeft het meer dan 100 aanwezigheidsplaatsen, heeft het een aantal buitenlandse productiefaciliteiten.<\/p>\n<p>Om hun positie te versterken is besloten tot investeringssamenwerking. Het resultaat was het gezamenlijke merk Behr-Hella. Ook is er een actieve productiesamenwerking tot stand gebracht met een andere Duitse productie, Mahle Behr. Hiervoor is in Finland een onderzoekscentrum geopend met als doel de ervaring van specialisten en Nokia Microsoft Mobile over te nemen. In 2018 zullen meer dan 20 ingenieurs in het centrum werken. De focus ligt op creatieve besturingsconcepten en intelligente gebruikersinterfaces.<\/p>\n<p>Het bedrijf levert met name aan de grootste automotive transportbanden en werkt nauw samen met OEM&#039;s. Naarmate fabrikanten steeds vaker een modulaire aanpak hanteren met een identieke architectuur, zullen brandstoffiltercomponenten binnenkort een integraal onderdeel worden van auto-uitrusting.
