De var belagda med speciella bakverk gjorda av skalbaggar, inte fr\u00e5n en fabrik. S\u00e5vitt jag minns b\u00f6rjade allt med den h\u00e4r killen som hette Bruce Meyer. \u00c4ven om den allm\u00e4nt h\u00e4nvisades till som &quot;dynevagnen&quot;, kallades den officiellt &quot;Meyer Manx&quot;. Manx var det ursprungliga fr\u00f6et till de till synes o\u00e4ndliga &quot;specialerna&quot; som gjordes p\u00e5 Beetle-plattformar. Det fanns sm\u00e5 sk\u00e5pbilar, Porsche-liknande speedsters, galna racerbilsliknande saker, och naturligtvis o\u00e4ndliga variationer p\u00e5 Dune Buggy.<\/p>\n<p>Men hur kan det inte vara d\u00e4r? Det var 60-talet! Strandkillar! Frankie Annette! Rid p\u00e5 den vilda surfen! Dick Dale! Greg Knoll! De \u00e4r ett fullst\u00e4ndigt skrik. Inga d\u00f6rrar, inget tak; de v\u00e4ger n\u00e4stan ingenting, och fj\u00e4dringen \u00e4r stark nog att motst\u00e5 (bokstavligen) gr\u00e4nsen till sanddynerna. Detta \u00e4r naturligtvis ocks\u00e5 de st\u00f6rsta nackdelarna. Det \u00e4r vettigt f\u00f6r dem att \u00e5ka fr\u00e5n Hermosa Beach till Rincon f\u00f6r att m\u00e5 b\u00e4ttre, men komma fr\u00e5n Joliet till Chicago f\u00f6r ett kundm\u00f6te i februari?<\/p>\n<p>Precis som originalen har denna Dune buggy inget fast tak eller vanliga d\u00f6rrar, och \u00f6ppna sidotr\u00f6sklar dominerar det \u00f6vergripande utseendet. F\u00f6rst\u00e4rkt vindruteram och Targa-st\u00e5ng (\u00f6ppen p\u00e5 sidan) ger v\u00e4ltning. F\u00f6r att skydda mot v\u00e4der och vind kan en svart presenning sp\u00e4nnas mellan vindrutans ram och Targa-st\u00e5ngen. Jag antar att de syftar p\u00e5 Beetle-baserade saker, s\u00e5 VW kommer att f\u00e5 en solid tv\u00e5basstr\u00e4ff.
