Exclusive interior shot of 2020 Kia Optima

Today we have new exclusive photos of the new generation Kia Optima / Kia K5, codenamed JL3, where we can see the interior design for the first time, thanks to this fully hidden shot.What do we know so far?This new update is about what we've seen lately with all 3 South Korean brands and all about powertrains, our source told us they currently have some minor issues that need improvement and the R&D team works It is difficult to solve these problems before starting production. As part of the new plan, we've been told that Kia now plans to drop the optima's 7 dual-clutch transmission option entirely, with the 1.6T now coming with 8 automatic transmission and the 2.5T. The engines will use 8 dual transmissions with a wet clutch system. All-wheel drive options are still in development, they haven't abandoned plans, but at the moment the R&D team still needs more time to address some of the issues they have. As you guys know, the 2.0 and 2.4 engines were dropped due to the carbonization issue, but they have now added low pressure secondary fuel injectors for better longevity in GDI engines.Along with these reports comes another delay for South Korean brands, with AWD and 2.5T options now back in production until at least Q1 2020. If we hear this report from Optima, it means that all other projects with the same engines will also be rolled back until R&D can solve these minor problems. One additional piece of information we asked was about the final HP result for the Theta3 2.5T engine and it wasn't clear what the numbers would be, but we were told that the Gamma2 1.6T is now set to 178hp, down 2hp. less than the Korean version, but we were told that this was mainly due to all the extra emissions.We will update you with all new information and details as they become available.
