Lamborghini has just released the latest version of their Huracán, the Huracán Performante Spyder.
The Huracán Performante is a more performance-oriented version of the "regular" Huracán (there aren't many "regulars" about this little beastie).
Aerodynamic design
In terms of design, the Performante Spyder takes a number of cues from Super Trofeo racing cars as well as open-frame street fighter bikes.
All of these are functional aero elements in Lamborghini's patented active aerodynamic system, first introduced at the Huracán Performante: Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva or ALA.
The Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder has a dry weight of 3,322 pounds. Front/rear distribution 43/57 percent.
Power and performance
Powered by a V10 naturally aspirated V10 engine, the Performante Spyder accelerates to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds and to 124 mph in 9.3 seconds.
The Spyder, like the Huracán Performante coupe, includes an improved suspension system, recalibrated ESC, a more responsive Lamborghini Dynamic Control system and a permanent all-wheel drive layout for maximum traction.
Open air
The roof part of the Huracán Performante Spyder is a lightweight electro-hydraulic deal that complements the car's distinctive lines, open or closed.
Pricing and Availability
The first happy customers will take delivery of their new Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder this summer with a suggested price, gulp, of $308,859.
Tony Borroz has spent his entire life racing antique and sports cars.
