Infiniti has announced plans to produce five new vehicles, starting with the QX50 crossover.
Over the next five years, the company plans to localize new cars in China and triple its sales in the fast-growing market. More than 50% of new Infiniti vehicles sold globally are expected to be electrified by 2025.
Continued growth
A record 48,408 vehicles were sold in China in 2017, an increase of 16% over the previous year.
Last year, Infiniti showed off the world's first variable performance engine for the 2019 QX50. The 2.0-liter «VC-Turbo» engine, adjusts the compression ratio for maximum performance.
The automaker says only hybrid and diesel powertrains can deliver high torque and efficiency.
«We will continue to strive to make Infiniti the best premium brand on the market,» said Roland Krueger, chairman and global president of Infiniti Motor Company.
