Traffic light information is now available on all Audi vehicles as part of the Audi AI functionality shipped in the US in several US cities. We are talking about the city of Phoenix and the areas of Kansas City and Kansas.
Audio AI Network Extension
In 2016, Audi partnered with Traffic Technology Services to launch a project that makes traffic light information available to vehicles using M2M technology. This is a new smart function advertised by the concern as part of car automation systems. The system has been successfully launched in Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, Palo Alto, Arcadia, California, Portland and Denver. Now the network for providing augmented reality services has expanded and replenished with two cities - Phoenix and Kansas City.
“Audi continues to be a leader in M2M solutions and the adoption of smart in-car technology,” said Scott Keogh, president of Audi of America.

How it works
Vehicles equipped with the new communication technology (Audio AI function), this is a short-range radio communication without the need to receive data via 3G, will receive real-time signals from connected traffic lights via the car's built-in 4G LTE connection.
Audi Connect PRIME services are optional and may require an additional paid-exploitation subscription.
