In the market for a new Subaru? Is a new Legacy possible? Then now might be the perfect time, because the automotive division of Fuji Heavy Industries has just announced how much it will cost to install a 2020 Legacy in your garage. Hint: not much. For starters, the Legacy will increase by just $200 by 2020. Considering the car comes standard these days, it's not that hard.
Subaru Legacy: all about the eyes
Every 2020 Subaru Legacy is equipped with the company's EyeSight Driver Assist technology and now features advanced adaptive cruise control with lane centering. On top of that, the EyeSight Assist monitor provides an on-screen display of all warnings and system statuses on the windshield. The headlights are now full LED and feature Subaru High Beam Assist. The Legacy comes in six models: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Limited XT and Touring XT.
The base tier starts at $22,745, which is quite reasonable. The base trim is equipped with a Starlink infotainment system with two chic 7-inch touchscreens (upper and lower) to control various vehicle functions. The multimedia system - that would be "radio" for high school folks - includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SiriusXM and Travel Link subscriptions are also available. There are new Starlink apps and Clari-Fi music recovery.

Symmetrical all-wheel drive and torque vectoring
Naturally, even entry-level trim is standard with Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive and active torque vectoring systems. I find it funny to mention this. Doesn't every Subie come standard with all-wheel drive? I mean, that's why you buy a Subaru in the first place. Anyhoo Base trim gets a new version of the Boxer's 2.5-liter engine that cranks out 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft. torque. The plant is connected to CVT Lineartronic while Auto Start-Stop helps improve fuel efficiency.

Subaru Legacy 2020: premium and sport trims
The 2020 Subaru Legacy Premium starts at $ 24,995 and features improvements over the base trim. The All-Weather Package, for example, gives you heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors and a windshield wiper defroster; leather steering wheel; dual-zone automatic climate control and a 10-seat power driver's seat with reinforced lumbar support. Standard power folding exterior mirrors (body color) with integrated turn signals.
The Premium package has two configuration options. The first includes blind-spot detection, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, push-button start, and LED fog lights. The second adds a powerful sunroof and an 11.6-inch multimedia navigation system.
The next trim level for the 2020 Subaru Legacy is the Sport, which starts at $ 26,945 (still acceptable). The Sport gets 18-inch black-coated wheels, a sporty front grille, rocker body paint, and a trunk spoiler. Another exclusive Sport trim is a two-tone fabric trim with red accent stitching. Powerful sunroof, reverse automatic braking and blind spot detection with Lane Change Assist are among the available options.

Limited & Limited XT
The starting price of the Limited next to the Limited is $29,745. A little under $30,000, but still pretty inexpensive. In the Limited, front passengers get their own eight-way power seat. Other goodies include 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels (engine-finished black); LED fog lights and push button start; Reverse automatic braking, steerable headlights and blind spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert.
