Finally someone caught the Next-Gen Optima without camouflage, and we can really judge its lines and final design.
What do we know so far?
Now we can really tell what the Nex-Gen Optima sports model looks like. Unfortunately we don't have any front picture, but just the side, and we are excited about this new Optima.
We see the dual exhaust at the bottom with black trim, as well as the side vents slightly higher than the exhaust tips.
These are what most people call potato images, but we can only assume that they have been reduced in resolution due to internet uploading, and it also appears to have been done from a distance.

The headlights remain the same, and now we get a close-up view of the DHO lights when they are off. This is similar to the No. 2 shape of the new wing design, this will be a very defining factor in recognising the next-generation Optima. Also on the upper grille is the front camera, right in the upper centre section of this larger grille.
The new Kia Optima in the US will have 2 different turbocharged engines and will use 3 different transmissions. The 1.6T will be available with two power levels, while one will have an 8-speed AT and the other a 7-speed dual clutch.
The star will be the all-new Theta3 engine with a displacement of 2.5 liters, a new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with all-wheel drive and an output of approximately 286 hp.

After Kia have released their official renderings and now these photos mean we're getting closer to its debut. We don't have an official date yet, but we'll keep an eye out for an unveiling date or more spy shots.
