2019 Hyundai Veloster Price Starts At $18,500

Hyundai unveiled its newest Veloster and Veloster Turbo models at the North American International Auto Show in January 2018. The fresh design was a collaborative effort between Hyundai designers from Seoul, South Korea and the United States. The 2019 Hyundai Veloster receives a comprehensive exterior and interior redesign, powertrain enhancements and a host of new and improved entertainment and communications equipment features.

Completely new design

The Hyundai Veloster combines the design appeal of a sports coupe with versatility. Much of the redesign is derived from increased proportions and volume. The new shape clearly conveys focused dynamic performance.

Interior

Asymmetrical design is carried through to the interior. Each interior trim level has unique colours, materials and accents, further distinguishing each model.

In addition to new colours and textures, generous cargo space is offered with an interior volume of 19.9 cubic feet.

Engine NU 2.0

The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine uses the Atkinson cycle for superior efficiency and reduced emissions. It delivers a maximum power output of 147 horsepower and a maximum torque of 179 Nm. The NU 2.0 engine also features dual continuous variable valve timing, electronic throttle control, variable induction and innovative anti-friction coatings. The engine is paired with an electronically controlled six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The driver has three mode choices: Normal, Sport and Smart.

Engine GAMMA 1.6 TURBOCHARGED

The 1.6-litre direct-injection four-stroke turbo engine produces 201 hp and 264 Nm of torque. The Hyundai Veloster Turbo generates 201 horsepower, which represents best-in-class specific output. There is also an overboost function that boosts torque output to 274 Nm under maximum acceleration.

The Veloster Turbo is available with a standard six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). All models also offer three driving modes: Normal, Sport and Smart.

Dynamics

Hyundai Veloster Turbo is equipped with McPherson front suspension, cylinder springs, gas shock absorbers and 24 mm front stabiliser. The rear suspension is a lightweight independent multi-link design with 19mm stabiliser. The vehicle is equipped with electrically assisted steering that adjusts to assist with changing driving conditions, improving fuel economy over a conventional steering system.

Additional and standard security

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster includes standard collision avoidance assistance (FCA) and three optional systems: lane departure warning (LKA), automatic light switching (HBA) for LED headlights, and driver alert (DAW).

Also available are Blind Spot Warning (BCW) and Rear Cross-Collision Warning (RCCW). Smart Cruise Control is available for Veloster Turbo for added driver convenience.

All Velosters are equipped with a reversing camera for superior parking visibility and six airbags. The braking system includes four-wheel disc brakes and an anti-lock braking system (ABS).

Infotainment system

Hyundai Veloster offers a full suite of sophisticated technology combined with convenient functionality to keep passengers informed and entertained. The premium infotainment system offers a variety of advanced connectivity options, including standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. SiriusXM Radio, HD Radio and next-generation Blue Link LTE connectivity are also available.
A Heads-Up Display system is available, projecting a virtual image onto a transparent panel mounted behind the instrument cluster. Veloster's sound / navigation systems also offer:
