The story of the next generation Sonata on our website started just a few months ago when we got access to photos thanks to our good friend at SHM.

Platform
The stripe on the hood implies that this car has an enlarged engine room and the fuel tank is in a new location. Which means this car uses a new and longer platform with a 2.845mm wheelbase (the current Sonata LF wheelbase is 2.805mm).
Design
The design of the new project Sonata DN8 has not yet been commented on by the company, but looking at the photos, we can see that this is a more elegant sedan, which is likely to be influenced by design cues of the Le Fil Rouge concept car recently shown in Geneva.
It looks like Hyundai is focusing on Eco-cars, with the latest generations of Sonata models getting a hybrid variant. This will not happen with the new generation, Hyundai plans to prepare a complete line, fully focused on eco-driving.
