Listen to all you work Joe and Josephine! Details, changes and new features for the 2020 GMC lineup have been announced. So if you're a do-it-yourselfer, have to haul a lot of people and/or things, but still want a little more luxury, you might want to consider what GMC has in store for 2020.
For starters, GMC has redesigned the entire line with a styling update, adding new safety features and technology. The world's first AT4 Acadia is on offer, a more aggressive off-road version of the already popular SUV. Acadia is now joining the Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD as a new member of the AT4 sub-brand.

Let's start with a 2020 terrain review. The smaller SUV is updated for 2020 with GMC Pro Safety now standard on all trims. The Advanced Safety Package includes automatic emergency braking; collision warning; Lane Keep Assistance with Lane exit warning; Next distance pointer; Braking of front pedestrians; and IntelliBeam headlights.
There are many additional safety measures, such as a package of driver warnings. This includes adaptive cruise control; Lane change warning; Side Blind Zone Alert; Rear cross alarm; Rear parking assistance and security alarm.
Terrain Denali & Elevation Edition
For 2020 Denali models will add Front Park Assist in addition to Rear Park Assist. The new Denali Premium Package combines the Advanced Safety Package and the Comfort Package with Adaptive Cruise Control. Ventilated driver and front passenger seats are available, as are heated rear seats. The 2020 Terrain Denali further features a premium suspension package with new internal valving and spring isolators. GMC says this makes for a more refined ride by further reducing road noise.
There is also the popular Terrain Black Edition, now called the Terrain Elevation Edition. This version gives you the popular blacked-out look for wheels, badges and trim pieces that every automaker seems to be doing these days. This chic version is available in Summit White, Graphite Gray Metallic or Ebony Twilight Metallic.

Acadia
GMC Acadia Gets Exterior Design Updates Including New Grille; new anterior and posterior fascias; standard LED lighting and GMC signature C-shaped lighting. This world's first Acadia AT4, which I mentioned at the beginning, has an even more aggressive look and darkened finish. Lane change alert with side blind spot warning, rear cross signal and rear parking assist are now standard on all trims.
There is a new nine-speed automatic transmission standard for 2.0L, 2.5L and 3.6L engines. The new 2.0L turbo engine is now standard on SLT and Denali models. The 2.0L turbo (tells GMC late availability) makes the GMC rated at 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. torque. Ride and handling are enhanced courtesy of the new suspension refinement, although GMC hasn't specified this. The interior has also received some improvements, notable among which are a new display and infotainment system.

The Sierra 1500 is currently offering a 3.0L Duramax turbodiesel mill, which is probably the biggest news yet. An inline six-zone diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic puts out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft. torque. Speaking of this 10-speed automatic, it's now available for SLT, AT4 and 4×4 Denali models with 5.3L V8. The CarbonPro Edition, which replaces the interior steel panels and floor of the bed with a lighter carbon fiber composite, is now available for the AT4 and Denali.
Other updates for 2020 include a ProGrade Trailering system with 15 available view cameras, including a simple yet convenient "transparent trailer view". There's also an Adaptive Cruise Control - Camera feature added in 2020. The system is equipped with a high-mounted single chamber. behind a rearview mirror that could bring the Sierra to a complete halt.

The world's first 10-speed Allison automatic is now mated to a 6.6-litre Surara HD Duramax diesel engine.
