Genesis plans to have its own network of dealers and an expanded line of vehicles for them to sell as it looks to take a piece of the luxury goods pie in 2022.

By then, the now-separated Genesis brand needed to have three crossovers to balance the product menu that was presented by sedans that are highly priced but have struggled to build sales momentum in a truck-dominated market.

Genesis unveiled the GV80 concept as a fuel cell vehicle at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

The Genesis GV80 SUV will arrive at the end of 2019.

In March, global brand chief Manfred Fitzgerald told Automotive News that the three-row crossover could arrive in late 2019 or early 2020. On sale there may be hybrid versions with fuel cells or plug-in modules.

The second planned Genesis crossover is expected to ride on the same RWD/AWD platform as the G70 sedan and use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine and an optional 3.3-liter twin-turbo.

The Genesis GV80 SUV will arrive at the end of 2019.

Hybrid or plug-in hybrid versions are possible.

A third SUV was included in a planned product Hyundai showed to reporters last year in South Korea, and it could join the lineup in 2021.
