US automotive media reports that sales of the Genesis brand in the US have been declining for the sixth month in a row.
In particular, it decreased by 38.6% in May compared to the previous year, and also sold 796 units in June, down 50.7% from last year.
The G80 was originally sold in the US under the Hyundai brand under the name Hyundai Genesis, while the G90 (EQ900) was simply a completely redesigned model.
In fact, Hyundai is also trying to expand its SUV lineup to the Genesis brand.
"It's true that the Genesis brand has very little brand awareness," said Manfred Fitzgerald, CEO of Genesis.
“We need to increase sales by adding a line of SUVs such as the GV80, GV70 and GV60,” he added.
